I want to be
A simple frail spider
Seeking life
In the web
Of someone else’s mind
Even if he ends up killing me
For the sake of another girl’s favour
A simple creature
Lying naked on a bed
Opening my legs
To a swan that once upon a time was wild
But got tamed from people’s uninspired feeding
I want to be
A simple swan
That chooses not to fly
To feed from someone else’s river
To let the water run through me
With the risk of drowning me
And simply float there with the current
Filtering from the clouded water
Plankton and serenity
I want to be
The simple, monotonous sound
Of a red & blue train
The lullaby of a child’s toy
That will muffle the screams of my thoughts
And leave an echo of tranquillity
A simple sweater
Radiating silent power
Laughing at my impudence
And tying knots
In the stripes of pinstripe suits
In the words of shallow people
I want to be
A simple white fairy of the lake
Invisible to the simple eye
To crawl at night
Under the wings
Of a mighty swan
That can teach
How love can be simply expressed
With a single flutter of a tail
One day I’ll be
A simple fox
That will love eternally
And will wander through valleys in the dark
Breaking all barriers
To lick the blood off the whiskers
Of a lost soulmate
And simply lie there
To die beside him
Shedding a simple, single, heavy tear in his ear
To wake him up
Grasping, at last,
The power
The challenge
Of simplicity
